UltraTech leads Rs 240 payout week as 110 Indian stocks go ex-date

More than 110 Indian equities will turn ex-date this week, triggering significant dividend payouts and bonus share issuances that require investors to hold positions before record dates to capture the returns.

More than 110 Indian equities are set to turn ex-date between July 27 and July 31, marking one of the densest weeks of the year for corporate actions. Investors must hold shares in their demat accounts on the designated record dates to qualify for the payouts. The schedule remains tentative, as additional companies may still announce dividend distributions, bonus issues, or stock splits before the week concludes.

The scale of capital returning to shareholders is dominated by large-cap industrial and consumer firms. Cement manufacturer UltraTech Cement commands the highest absolute payout of the week, declaring a final dividend of Rs 240 per share with a Thursday record date. Consumer goods giant Britannia Industries follows on Friday at Rs 90.5 per share, while automaker Eicher Motors rounds out the top three with a final dividend of Rs 82 per share, also on Friday.

The industrial sector features prominently throughout the week. Engineering conglomerate Siemens will distribute a final dividend of Rs 18 per share on Wednesday. Automotive supply chain firms are heavily represented, with Rane (Madras) paying Rs 16 per share on Wednesday, Ceat issuing Rs 35 per share on Friday, and Endurance Technologies distributing Rs 11.5 per share. Elsewhere, Solar Industries will pay Rs 11 per share on Tuesday, and Godrej Agrovet will distribute Rs 11 per share on Wednesday.

Pharma, IT and real estate distributions

The pharmaceutical and technology sectors are also returning cash to shareholders. AstraZeneca Pharma India leads the healthcare pack with a Rs 36 per share final dividend on Friday, joined by Alembic Pharmaceuticals at Rs 12 per share on Wednesday. In technology, IT services provider Wipro will pay an interim dividend of Rs 2 per share on Monday, while ASM Technologies will distribute Rs 12 per share on Wednesday.

Real estate developers and financial services firms are active participants. DLF will pay a final dividend of Rs 8 per share on Monday, while Godrej Properties has scheduled a Rs 10 per share distribution for Tuesday. Non-banking financial firm Tata Capital has fixed a final dividend of Rs 0.5699 per share for Monday, alongside rating agency CRISIL.

Bonus issuance and Friday volume

While dividends dominate the calendar, Hardwyn India has fixed Tuesday as the record date for a 2:5 bonus issue. Friday accounts for the highest volume of ex-date actions, featuring dozens of firms across varying market caps. Notable names turning ex-date on the final trading day of the week include Bharti Hexacom at Rs 18 per share, Bata India at Rs 9 per share, and state-owned Power Finance Corporation at Rs 3.95 per share.

Chemical producers and other manufacturers make up a significant portion of the broader list. BASF India and Cheviot Company will each pay Rs 25 per share on Thursday, while PNB Housing Finance is set to distribute Rs 8 per share on Friday. Additional payouts from companies like Marico, JK Tyre & Industries, and Kalyani Steels further illustrate the breadth of the week's corporate actions across the Indian market.
