Thailand's Kasikornbank launches $800 million US dollar bond sale, term sheet shows

Kasikornbank in Thailand has initiated an impressive $800 million sale of U.S. dollar Tier 2 subordinated bonds. These bonds are designed to absorb potential losses, ensuring the bank's stability in challenging times. Launching at 173 basis points over U.S. Treasuries, the offering exceeded initial forecasts. With a maturity of 10 years and an early repayment option available after five years, the funds raised will support general corporate objectives.

Indian bond traders are navigating uncertain waters as soaring oil prices weigh heavily on market sentiment. In response, the Reserve Bank of India is tightening liquidity to combat rising inflation. This strategic move intends to stabilize overnight rates and counterbalance the pressures of high crude costs. As the RBI adopts a careful approach, the possibility of interest rate hikes looms on the horizon.
