Tanker Traffic Remains Subdued Despite Trump’s Talk of Peace

Tanker crossings in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb remained subdued at the start of this week despite reports about potential renewal of peace talks based on statements made by President Donald Trump. A dozen tankers crossed the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Monday, Kpler data cited by Reuters showed. Most of the vessels had their transponders on, meaning they were not trying to cross the strait undetected.
