Ark Invest adds $12.2 million in SpaceX shares, reduces Block and Robinhood stakes

Cathie Wood’s investment firm shifted capital toward aerospace while scaling back fintech and crypto exposures, highlighting ongoing portfolio rebalancing amid recent market volatility.

Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest purchased $12.2 million worth of SpaceX shares on Tuesday, acquiring 105,108 shares across its multiple exchange-traded funds. The move comes as the aerospace company’s stock closed at $116.41, marking a 2.56 percent daily gain despite a steep 29 percent decline over the past month.

Alongside this aerospace acquisition, the firm systematically reduced its exposure to several prominent financial and digital asset platforms. Ark offloaded $4 million in Robinhood shares, $2.3 million in Block Inc. stock, and $1.6 million in Bullish holdings during the same Tuesday trading session.

These divestments occurred against a backdrop of mixed trading performance for the affected financial companies. Block Inc. shares rose 2.29 percent to finish the session at $83.10. Conversely, Robinhood dropped 3 percent to close at $92.76, while Bullish edged down 0.48 percent to $22.69.

The trading activity underscores Ark’s disciplined, rules-based approach to managing its fund weightings. The investment firm actively adjusts its exchange-traded fund holdings to ensure no single equity exceeds 10 percent of any portfolio. This mechanical mandate forces regular rebalancing when asset valuations experience sharp fluctuations.

While scaling back major fintech names, the firm maintained a marginal increase in its specialized digital asset exposure. Ark purchased $289,167 worth of Bitmine shares and approximately $32,667 of the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF.

For market participants, this reallocation signals a strategic pivot toward private market proxies like SpaceX amid broader volatility in the retail trading and crypto sectors. It also highlights the structural realities of ETF management, where recent price movements in underlying assets can trigger mandatory portfolio adjustments that may appear as broader shifts in investment conviction.

The contrast between the substantial SpaceX purchase and the multimillion-dollar fintech sales illustrates a clear rotation of capital. Investors watching Ark’s daily disclosures will note that these moves are driven as much by portfolio concentration limits as by directional bets on the future of decentralized finance or space exploration.
